With new legislation recently passed, The Department of Homeland Security now has jurisdiction over state driver licenses. This will effectively close all the previous gaps in the system and make it impossible to get a license from one state if you lost your privilege in another because everything will be tied to a central database by your SSN. But not all is lost!
